Kids Do the Darndest Things

You know the saying, "Kids Say the Darndest Things?" Well, mine sometimes DO the darndest things!! Take Scott, for instance. Today he was playing with a plastic cup, sucking it against his chin. Now, yes, there were four other children doing the same thing. But Scott just had to be the best at it, keeping it on the longest. Well, as you can see by the picture below, he was marked the winner. His chin is all bruised because of the suction! Lovely. I'm not sure how long he will have this "purple beard." Makes a momma proud....

I love Spring. And this weekend is Easter here in Serbia. Every Spring, right around Easter, the magnolia tree in front of our house blooms with these gorgeous purple and white blossoms. It is my favorite tree, and I call it my Easter tree. It didn't come in as full this year, but it is still beautiful. Wish you could see it in person! Hristos Vaskrse! Vaistinu vaskrse!

He is Risen!

For our family and friends celebrating Christ's resurrection this weekend, we rejoice with you!

This is our eighth Easter in Serbia. For holidays, Serbs use a different calendar (Julian calendar), and this year Easter falls on April 19th. We tend to celebrate Easter at the same time that those around us celebrate. So, we will be observing Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday next weekend. We look forward to a special day with our Serb brothers and sisters!
