Birthdays

The fall means "birthdays" for me - Scott's and Kurt's. Scott turned 13 and had a party with friends. Kurt turned 18 (still can't believe it!), and the Lord allowed Kelli and I to go to BFA to celebrate with him and his dorm. Here are a few pictures of the fun days!

The kids played "Killer Wink." Lots of fun!

Then they played the game Spoons. It was a hit!

Top off the fun with chocolate cake! Scott had a great birthday!

The day before Kurt's birthday, we went to Basel, Switzerland to spend the day. It was weird seeing a GameStop in the middle of the old town!

This building in the middle of Basel is amazing. Look at the colors, paintings, tile work - real craftsmanship!

Kurt and I on top of Hoch Blauen, the mountain near his dorm. It was an amazing view.

Sonne tradition is for the birthday boy to be "creeked." That is, to be thrown in the creek. When it was time for the creeking, Kurt took off and hid. The guys looked everywhere for him! Kurt hid right beside the creek! When they started getting close to him, he went ahead and jumped in the creek. So, he creeked himself! Happy Birthday!
